Internationalizing higher education in the age of Corona – or, can a virtual exchange still make you homesick?
2020 was looking good – the Norwegian Police University College was planning more international events for police university students and faculty than ever before – until the Prime Minister announced that all campuses would be closing. Despite the Heartbreak of all that good working «going to waste», I had to think – «this IS an opportunity – if climate change hasn’t been enough to get people to think differently about student and faculty exchanges, then this is.»
This blog is part of the Open Networked Learning Course, and my chance to explore and reflect on new ways to harness the «added value» that traditional exchanges give: increased insight and self-knowledge, better communication skills, more flexibility and adaptability, etc. Can a Virtual Exchange give you homesickness – I sure hope so 😉
